Life Transformation Groups
Life Transformation Groups-a part of the dicipleship journey.
What we are learning is that discipleship doesn’t happen in isolation nor is it confined to a classroom. Rather, being a disciple means embracing all of life as an opportunity to be led and shaped by King Jesus for His purposes. Therefore family, work, recreation, friendship, reading, service, eating, laughter, prayer, giving, receiving, gardening, music….(You get the idea) all caputed under the Lordship of Jesus leads us towards a renewed, creative and powerful life of serivce. In amongst all this we also recognise the significance of the more traditional spiritual disciplines such as confession, prayer and reading the word of God. Very often these have been practiced at either a corportate or personal level but rarely in the context of two or three. This is where we have found the framework of Life Transformation Groups to be a helpful addition to a life of discipleship.
Basically the Life Transformation Group (LTG) is a group of two or three people who meet together weekly for three essential disciplines: confession of sin, steady intake of Scripture, and prayer for others who need Christ. There is a pattern which enables people to establish themselves in this practice outlined in a brochure that ResourceZone makes availiable. To read the original story behind life transformation groups read Search and Rescue by Neil Cole.
